Man killed in stabbing outside Queen Anne Dick’s Drive-In | KIRO-TV

Seattle police have one man in custody after a stabbing outside a Dicks Drive-In in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood Friday.

Friends tell KIRO 7 News that the 26-year-old man killed is Andrew Pimentel. He was hanging out and singing karaoke at Ozzie’s at First Avenue West and West Mercer Street went the three blocks to get Dick’s Drive-In about 2 a.m.

UW study finds Seattle’s minimum wage is costing jobs | The Seattle Times

The city’s escalating minimum wage has meant a slight increase in pay among workers earning up to $19 per hour, but the hours worked in such jobs have shrunk, a study commissioned by the city found. It estimates there would be 5,000 more such jobs without the Seattle law.

‘We will not ‘keep clam’ about this’: Ivar’s losing its prime location at Sea-Tac Airport | KOMO

SEA-TAC AIRPORT, Wash. – Ivar’s Seafood Bar is losing its central terminal location at Sea-Tac Airport.The Port staff have decided not to renew our lease out there at Sea-Tac, Ivar’s president Bob Donegan said Thursday. But, the Port of Seattle said the restaurant’s 10-year lease for that location expired in 2015, and had been on hold for the last two years.

Seattle Mayor Taxes “White People” To Deflect From His Horrible Scandal | American Action News

Seattle’s liberal mayor, Ed Murray, is pushing a new soda tax—designed to target white people and to fight “white privilege.”

Murray’s original soda tax would slap a two-cents-per-ounce tax on soda sweetened with sugar or corn syrup, using the funds to pay for schools in minority communities. Murray initially touted the plan, which is similar to those enacted in several other cities, as discouraging consumption of unhealthy drinks and combating diseases like diabetes and obesity.
