Bellevue’s VoiceBox Technologies lays off 60% | Evergreen State News

BELLEVUE, Wash. – VoiceBox Technologies, provider of a suite of voice technologies has laid off more than half of their 300 staff members. They recently moved into new offices in downtown Bellevue to accommodate the explosive growth they had experienced.

The newly-leased space in the One Twelfth @ Twelfth campus allowed VoiceBox to consolidate their team in one building. More than 67,000 sqft was taken, improved and finally occupied in November of 2016.

Amanda Gonzalez, Senior Account Executive from VoiceBox responded to our inquiries with this statement:

Due to a combination of unforeseen circumstances, we have had to make the difficult decision to restructure our staff. This comes despite a year that includes the successful delivery of new products and capabilities to our largest customers while at the same time making significant investments to improve our technology, especially in the area of Platform, NLU, Embedded ASR, Cloud ASR and Developer Experience. The restructuring will focus our resources on the Connected Car market and enables us to grow and thrive organically.
